Account Overview

Your Account settings are personal to you — your name, phone number, email signature, and per-user notification preferences. They’re separate from organization-wide settings, which live under Settings in the sidebar and are shared across your team. Open your account by clicking your avatar in the top-right of the header and selecting Account. The Account dialog opens with three tabs:
  • Account — your personal profile
  • Notifications — per-user notification preferences
  • Settings — display preferences (coming soon)

Account Tab

The Account tab holds your personal profile information.

Profile Fields

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number
  • Email — read-only; this is the address tied to your Cortado sign-in
To change your name or phone number, edit the fields and save.
Your sign-in email can’t be changed from this dialog. If you need to switch the email tied to your account, contact your organization admin or Cortado support.

Email Signature

Your Email signature is a rich-text block that Cortado appends to outgoing emails you send from the app — replies, follow-ups, quote send messages, and ad-hoc compose. The signature editor supports common formatting: bold, italic, links, line breaks, and lists. Build it once and Cortado will:
  • Auto-append it to outgoing messages you compose
  • Preserve it across replies and forwards
  • Keep it intact when you insert a template
You can toggle Include signature off on any individual message if you don’t want the signature on that particular send.
Keep your signature short and useful — name, title, business name, and one way to reach you. Long signatures look noisy in reply chains.

Notifications Tab

The Notifications tab is where you set per-user notification preferences. Today this tab exposes iMessage alerts for new inquiries, when that feature is enabled for your organization. If your org hasn’t turned it on, you won’t see the iMessage option here. For organization-wide email notifications — summary reports, overdue tasks, stale leads, upcoming events, payment reminders — head to Settings > Communications > Notifications. See Notifications for the full setup.

Settings Tab

The Settings tab will hold display preferences such as timezone and date format. Today the tab shows a placeholder — these preferences are coming soon. Until they ship, Cortado uses your organization’s defaults for date and time formatting.

Signing Out

To sign out, open the avatar dropdown in the top-right and click Sign out. You’ll be returned to the sign-in screen.

Password and Sign-In

Cortado handles passwords through email-based reset — there is no in-app password change form.

Resetting Your Password

  1. Sign out of Cortado.
  2. On the sign-in screen, click Forgot Password.
  3. Enter the email tied to your account.
  4. Open the reset email Cortado sends and follow the link to set a new password.
You can also sign in without a password using a magic link. On the sign-in screen, enter your email and Cortado will send you a link that signs you in directly.
If you sign in primarily from one trusted device, magic links remove the need to remember a password at all. Use whichever flow you prefer — they’re interchangeable.

Switching Organizations

If you belong to more than one Cortado workspace — for example, you run two event businesses, or you contract for several clients — Cortado will show a Team Switcher in the left sidebar. Use it to jump between workspaces without signing out. If you only belong to one Cortado workspace, the Team Switcher isn’t shown.
Each workspace is fully separate: contacts, leads, events, quotes, and invoices belong to a single workspace. Switching workspaces changes everything you see in the app.

Best Practices

  1. Set your signature first — before sending your first customer email, set a signature so every outgoing message looks polished
  2. Keep your name and phone current — teammates and customers see this information in shared views and on emails you send
  3. Use magic links on personal devices — they’re faster than passwords and avoid the password-reset cycle
  4. Reset the password if anything feels off — if you suspect someone else has access to your account, run the reset flow immediately
  5. Tune iMessage alerts to match your role — if you’re the person who triages new inquiries, turning on iMessage alerts for new leads keeps response times fast
  6. Remember the split — personal preferences live in Account; team-wide email notifications live in Settings > Communications > Notifications
